Monticello Road Paving

Monticello Road Project Update

The concrete paving project on Monticello Road was let on March 26, 2019 and the project was awarded to Horsfield Construction, Inc. of Epworth, Iowa for a cost of $1,156,513.58. The paving limits are from Prairieburg Road east to the Linn-Jones County line. A project schedule is not known at this time.

The contractor is placing the rock shoulders this week. They plan to finish the road on Friday (24th) and switch over to Prairieburg Road. Monticello Road will be open to all traffic on Friday (24th). The pavement markings will not be completed yet. They will be painted when Prairieburg Road is completed and the two projects will be painted at the same time.

The contractor is closing Nickel Plate Road today for intersection paving. It will remain closed for 2 days to allow concrete to mature. Monticello Road is open to local traffic.

The paving operation has resumed again today and they expect to reach Prairieburg Road by this evening. Today will be the last day of paving on Monticello Road. The contractor will start placing rock shoulders next week (20th). Access to driveways and field entrances will be restored as maturity is reached.
