Absentee Ballot Request Forms (PDF) - for a ballot to be sent by mail - must be received in the Elections Office by 5 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2020. There are multiple groups mailing absentee ballot request forms, however, only one form needs to be completed for each voter.

Requested ballots will be mailed beginning Monday, October 5. Absentee ballots mailed back to the Elections Office must be postmarked by November 2, 2020 to be counted. Ballots can also be returned by placing them in a secure drop box. The Linn County Auditor’s Office has a secure drop box for voters to deposit their absentee ballot request forms and ballots. This drop box is on 24/7 video security and contents are collected by a bi-partisan team each weekday. The drop box is located at Linn County Public Service Center, 935 2nd St. SW, Cedar Rapids and will be open until 9 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
