Sheriffs Office

Due to COVID-19, effective Tuesday, March 23, 2020, the Linn County Sheriff’s Office will be closed to the public. We will continue to conduct business during our normal business hours via telephone, email and our website.

It is the mission of the Linn County Sheriff’s Office to protect the lives and property of the residents of this county by providing the highest quality and most professional law enforcement, correctional, and support services attainable in a cost-effective manner.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office is the second largest sheriff’s office in Iowa. We are a full service law enforcement agency that operates seven areas of public service, including the Patrol, Criminal (Detective), Communications, General Services, Finance, Civil, and Correctional Center Divisions.
