County Home Road Project Update

County Home Road will soon be under construction from N Center Point Road to the bridge over Indian Creek, a half mile west of Highway 13. The construction improvement project includes concrete paving, paved shoulders, the addition of right and left turn lanes, and single lane roundabouts at the C Ave Ext and Alburnett Road intersections.

The contractor is currently working on installing the lights at the roundabout and placing topsoil at intersections. They have scheduled pavement markings and rumble strips within the next two weeks. The cold weather has not helped the contractor make progress. As of now, the road is expected to be open around November 18th-20th. Forecasted highs are in the 50s and if that weather holds it will help the contractor stay on schedule.

We apprecaite everyone's patience and cooperation with this project. Please contact me with any questions.

There is a lot of misc. work still to be done on the project. The contractor was placing more shoulder rock today and preparing for the fina concrete work. There are still rumble strips to grind, pavement markings to paint, and final grading to complete. I am working with the contractor to develop a schedule when the road will be open. At this time, my best assumtion is early November.
